Now the real situation is happening. FluHiNi and the nurses are the in the very front line. Many of these situations have taken for granted. Too much talk when suggestions are made and nobody listens. And talk about strategic planning where is the strategic planning for nursing staff deployment? If you think that by freezing holidays and making nurses continuously work and on call you may not achieve your objectives. In the end many acute services will suffer because the nurses are stretched out to the max. Even on off duty they are asked to standby. I don't think this is a good idea. Those people that have been attending conference of which many nurses never get to go now demonstrate what you have gained.
