The URGE to STUDY….

December 16, 2012 – 11:17 am

I have have applied the PSTS scholarship from JPKE in Dec 2011. But i received the ‘dukacita’ reply from them.

Nevertheless, i still pursue my study in Malaysia. First Semester, i had no problem paying my course fees after saving up my bonus. But during the 2nd semester the light just went out. No money but still studying :(

I went to ask $$$ from LOAN SHARK! Exactly… i went to LOAN SHARK to pay my study. My siblings will settle using their GOVT BONUS this DECEMBER as promised to the loan shark.

Studying for ONE year now with ‘Loan Shark’ Scholarship my achievements;
4As DISTINCTION and 1B CREDIT (Just imagine with the sacrifice if i fail the paper)

Now again the Next SEMESTER PAYMENT is DUE. No where to go to…. Loan Shark again this year?

My English is all good Credit in O level - 7.0 in IELTS - A1 AUS English Test, Maths is perfect A and NO failed subjects but was NOT awarded with the Scholarship due to 12 years working experience and Australian University accepted me doing Masters instead though i am only a NATIONAL DIPLOMA holder.

Because im a MATURE STUDENT. They don’t encourage me to REVERSE my EDUCATION.

My QUESTION is - Why didn’t i get the SCHOLARSHIP? I just need to pay off my course fee nothing much. The rest are all ‘BUDGETED’. Should i reverse studying and complete HND, DEGREE then only MASTER. Kenapa ku mesti beUNDUR? Gustan?

If you want to help me on getting the PSTS please write me an email at msc_student@live.com or even explain to me that it is for someone special which is not like me.

  2. There are always exist ppl who need any assistance because they really need that and the only they can turn to is from the Brunei Govt who is the Islamic country and to be a Zikir nation. What happen to our no 1 education priority and why we are still struggle to continue our studies. My suggestion is that all of our problems must be personally directed to His Majesty because he is the only one who can solve rakyat problems.

  3. I don’t think it is appropriate for you to bring this matter up here. Why dont you approach PSTS and explain your situation? Or ask for clarification on why you were rejected the scholarship. There should be some set of rules that they follow.

    The things I wonder here are;

    1.why did you continue your studies when you know that you do not have sufficient financial support? are you trying to prove something here? Did PSTS promise to give you scholarship if you get the right grades?

    2.Yes you achieved the grades during your first semester with that so called loan shark scholarship, the thing is no one asked you to go to the loan shark. I doubt the government will even take that into consideration. I can see an unethical issue here.

    3.YES I do agree that education is for all but I think that there are other alternatives you can take. For example why not study in local education institutes such as UBD?

    I know there are certain criteria that needs to be met, and yes you need to follow that pattern from HND to Masters if you want the scholarship. You need to consider those who actually met that criteria. Why would you be the only one with that privilege? There are other mature applicants other than you who are still doing their HND and degrees and even masters. They follow the criteria or rules.

    Yes you can skip to masters but it seems like you have to pay all the school fees on your own.

    No offense here. This is just my view on your matter.

    I hope you find a solution.

    good luck.
