December 26, 2012 – 10:38 amI hope MOE (Unit Pendidikan Swasta) read my ranting here. My child is currently attending this well known private school, which is fine for me. ok, my doubt is; why do i have to pay school fee for the month of december? Can MOE enlighten me on this issue? or is it beyond MOE’s jurisdiction. I know about running costs and everything but its quite impossible to say for a well established private school with a strong financial stability for decades, lamenting about running costs and so on. Its irrelevant. Please, paying for december is like paying for nothing in return because its a one whole month school holiday, meaning; there’s no school! Are all private schools here in brunei levied fee for december? Can someone enlighten me. I know some of you might say that ‘kalau inda mampu, tukar pulang ke sekulah lain’, yes i can afford to pay. But wheres the logic of paying in december when there’s actually no school? Another thing is, this school also asked for an extra 2++ for stationaries which i have no clue or idea what they will spend on. C’mon, if the principal read this, can you please be abit more transparent on what sort of stationaries does the school actually spend on that 2++, what do you mean by ’stationaries’? Since mostly everything from pencils, colors, exercise books and some textbooks bought by parents. Can MOE be abit more stringent and get into this matter. I need a clear and precise explanation. Thank you.

I agree no one should need to pay school fee for the month of December. Karipap….even govt run schools are doing the same too and I don’t understand why? When kids are not attending school in December so why do we have to pay the school fee??? My daughter used to study in one of the Form 6 centres run by the govt and we were made to pay school fees for the months of December and it was not cheap either!!! MOE yes, I would like to know your reply to Karipap’s query.

I think you should approach the school instead of MOE.
I am not surprised as private schools tend to be like this. no suprises there.

School Fee yang dikenakan olih pihak sekolah swasta atu sebanarnya bayaran untuk persekolahan 9 bulan bah tu (tolak cuti, Jumat-Minggu, itu-ini, tinggal 9 bulan saja). Untuk membantu supaya ibu-bapa inda berapa barat membayar jadi ianya telah dibahagikan 1o, 11 atau 12 olih sesetengah sekolah supaya sanang dibayar sebulan sekali atau setiap kali menerima gaji. Jadi kalau biskita inda suka membayar bulan 12 misalnya, bayar tah habiskan sebelum bulan 10. Ngam tia tu habis untuk setaun atau 9 bulan persekolahan. Masalahnya ialah ramai orang inda paham atutah sababnya banyak komplin. Aku nda pernah komplin pasal ani. 5 orang udah anakku bersekolah swasta selama hampir 20 tahun jumlah kelamaannya. No complaints at all.
