It is my honest feeling that in Brunei we may consider some change to the way we elect Tua Kampongs and Penghulus Political party based democracy will be a huge mistake for Brunei considering the mismanagement and corruption in very many democracies in the developing countries in Asia and Africa. Instead I venture to suggest a party-less, individual moral based rule on the following lines. The elections for Tua Kampongs which are now held at different times must be held at the same time. The Election commission of Brunei( Ministry of Home Affairs) must mange and organise this. Every 1500 people of Brunei should elect a representative( something similar to Tua Kampongs) and those who stand as representatives must be vetted by an Islamic Religion based Council of Experts for their Taqwa, honesty, public service, character and qualifications. Once they are approved to stand, full details of their bio-data, financial particulars, statements of assets ......

It is a geographical accident that crude oil is found in many Middle Eastern countries populated and ruled by Muslims. But as a matter of fact crude oil is a world resource and so only North America and Europe would decide the exploration, extraction, refining and marketing of the commodity That is the view of the neo imperialists. The latest casualty of this doctrine is Mali an African country. The goal of this new war is no other than stripping yet another country of its natural resources by securing the access of international corporations to do it. France is supported by other NATO members. US is providing intelligence . Of course everyone wants a share in the rich booty by replacing one corrupt Admin by another corrupt set of politicians as we saw in Libya. The goal is exploitation. If we are to believe what the French say( as we believed the ......

Recently with the posting, 'reconstruction of Seria Drainage Scheme' has been started since few months ago. This project is support to be improving the drainage flow within Seria town and residency area. But after months of reconstruction, yet no progress has been improved instead it is getting worst. Especially during these raining season, most of the Seria town including the shops and residency area were flooded due to poor drainage around the town. Eventhough, construction is on-going 'massively'(on-looking physically)but contractor seem to be ignore the seriousness of flood around the town. I have noticed most of the time, contractor just taking their time to re-construct but without consent of other road users' difficulty. During school holidays, no work has been done instead just leave the road closure here and there. Time is wasted and nothing has been done to ease the fow of traffic after holidays end. The town area is now looking worst ......

Our Simpang 165, Kampung Bebatik Kilanas used to be very peaceful Residential Area with a beautiful Road and environment, until a new tenant moved in. It's no longer a Residential Area But a Construction Ware House storing all Construction items as Store. It Doesn't make much noise but damage the Beautiful Road into an Off Road due to heavy equipment, lorry and Trailer carrying heavy loads entering the Simpang. There are cars parked along the Simpang and it has become a one way Simpang, not to mention heavy vehicles or containers are parked just outside their entrance. We Residential of the Same Simpang were Frustrated with the Road being Damaged and we were wondering if the Ware House has "Permit To Work Policy" or is it Approved by Authority by using Residential Housing as Ware House. Are businesses like this allowed to operate in residential areas? Where can we lodge a complaint against this situation ......
