Im working as a daily paid officer in a certain department. the thing is, i’ve been a daily paid officer for over a year now & up till now, i havent been promoted to a monthly based paid officer. i know most would probably say, “setahun labih jua saja. ada orang yang sampai 5 tahun tu lagi tia”. but the thing is, when i started working, i’ve been promised that i’d only be daily paid for a maximum time of one year. promises were written in black & white.

i tried calling to the department responsible about this. sometimes up to one a week, but the answer i always get is, “masih dalam process”. i mean, ever since April 2011, i started calling & all i get is in process. how long of a process do you need? it makes me wonder, “berat kah pen nya atu kan men-sign” borang? thats not the frustrating part yet. there are times when i called where they hung up on me. there are also times where they put me on hold & like a fool i waited just to found out that im hung up on few minutes later. see, what happened to TPOR?

to the responsible individuals, please understand. people got plans. people got commitments, people got responsibilities. you can just be ignorant & effect peoples life in such a way. you may say,

jangan pulang planning dulu = we live out life based on plans. others need to know & plan ahead.

jangan pulang me-loan / membali kereta apa = if i dont loan to buy my car, how do you expect me to go to work? how do you expect me to carry out my responsibilities? im surr you got responsibilities as well, what would you feel if those priviledges were neglected from you?

the thing is, i’ve got friends whom applied on october / july & such. they already received their monthly paid. together with their backdated. i filled out my form on february. what kind of joke is this??

responsible individuals, you may be ignorant because you dont know what people are going through. you dont know the situation people are in right now. so please. take some action.

During our recent visit to a department store in Mentiri, we were surprised by some people that sells second-hand imported refrigerators. First re-con cars, tyres and now refrigerators too? Do we really need such an old used trash? I mean, unless the importers were to import in or so on. I don’t understand the need for us to import such used items. The relevant authorities should consider before giving approval for such imports. Our nation have it’s own pride of being a well to do and rich nation. I wonder what will be next to degrade our pride!

So what is the feedback from MMN about the private sector? Anak belia tempatan in private sector need to be given ’specialty’ from the government sector.

BOLTON STAR GOT BEST POSSIBLE MEDICAL CARE:
WHITE HART LANE was well equipped to deal with saturday’s incident: both clubs (Spurs & Bolton) had a doctor on the bench. They were both wearing earpieces allowing them to communicate with touchline so equipment could be asked for quickly.

AN ADDITIONAL DOCTOR WAS IN THE STADIUM, PRIMARILY TO LOOK AFTER PROBLEMS WITH THE CROWD : both clubs’s physios were trained in resuscitation, as were three others from Spur’s medical team.

TE\WO PARAMEDICS WERE PITCHSIDE : There were two ambulances for the exclusive use of the players, one from St John and the other one paid for privately by Tottenham.

THE TOTTENHAM DOCTOR CARRIED A SECOND DEFIBRILLATOR IN HI BAG IN CASE THERE WAS PROBLEM WITH THE FIRST : as well as the mandatory medical equipment, Spurs had on hand an additional resuscitation equipment

Wasalam, squirell

Hi everyone. Sorry in advanced for the short rant but I need a place to vent about a certain issue.

Everyone in Brunei should have encountered “poklen” who likes to blast tasteless music from their vehicles. Usually those with the smallest cars are the loudest, as if to compensate for something.

The worst happened recently, when somebody was blasting all day and night at the flats where I live from their car. It’s bad enough we have to face this in commercial areas, but in residential areas? This is driving me insane and is really stressful when all I hear is the bass going off non-stop when I want is a peaceful evening. I really don’t know how to react to this as people just advise me to get over it but it really annoys me that there are people this inconsiderate in our so-called abode of peace.

Salam,

Panjang hon ku atu, tarus-tarus ya mengambil kekanan bah. Tau sudah kerita laju, mun ya laju keluar inda apa. Ani lambat ya lagi. Mengambil ku jalan kiri teliat ku ia mengangkati tangan. Ada jua kan 15min perjalanan kami atu, baik jua urang atu `give up`. Ku toleh kiri kanan belakang, nada ya lagi mengintai.

Ani sudahtah salah marah lagi lapastu mengintai lagi.

Hormati urang lain dan patuhi undang-undang jalan raya.

According to a friend who was there, the parents already inform the nurses that the child temperature was high but the response that they receive was rudeness. It seemed to them high temperature in the emergency is not considered as life threatening that is why they give it a low priority.

Years ago I suffered the same treatment of being ignored when I took my child to the emergency when his temperature reached 40. 10 minutes after I dropped my child and my wife to my horror no one attended to them even though my spouse had already inform them of his condition. Fortunately for us we wrapped his whole body in a wet towel and luckily “inda sampai memalak” unlike the sweet child. And fortunately for me I know one of the nurses who upon seeing and hearing my child’s problem immediately took action.

Ever since that incident I never took my child to the emergency section unless someone I know is on shift. I did report this matter to one of the Senior Officer at the Ministry of Health but until now I did nor receive any feedback.

Why carelessness and negligence is still occurred? The answer is very simple. They said the worst that can happen is that they will be transferred to another less demanding section and DEFINITELY will not be sacked! And at the end of the year they will still receive their bonus.

IF the MOH, I mean a big IF, is really going to investigate they might be horrified, as a human, do discover the high number of incidences of negligence that have been happening in hospitals and medical centres and the cover ups that followed

All I can say good luck to us all.

Everybody would agree that home is where we could take our rest and feel safe after a hard day’s work. We can even have a comfortable and sound sleep without any disturbances and wake up next morning with freshness. But that it is not the case anymore as far as I am concerned.

I had this harrowing experience recently which gives concrete evidence to this terrifying incident. An intruder has trespassed into our home and entered the maid’s room with the help of the maid. It occurred just after midnight when we were fast asleep. Somehow we heard a sound as if someone has opened our gate. From my bedroom I can see someone ( a man) walking around our house. I wouldn’t dare to go out of my bedroom to look for him because I was thinking of our safety at home. Frightened and shocked, I immediately called the police so that the culprit was apprehended.

The police came soon afterwards but to my surprise, the person was with the maid in the maid’s room. No wonder the maid was the one helping him all the way to enable him met the maid. I thought a burglar came in but I was wrong. He was handcuffed and interrogated.

What makes me really disappointed is that I might not be able to get justice I deserved at the end even though I have written my statement in the police station including the maid’s and the culprit’s. Explanation was given to me that since nothing has been broken and it was not a forced entry and moreover it was the maid who invited him at the first place, therefore it was difficult for me to have fair trial in the court. The fact of the matter is that we never gave our permission to the maid to invite someone to our home (even worst into the maid’s room). The other odd thing about this incident is that it happened at odd hours i.e. at wee hours in the morning NOT during the day. The crucial question I want to ask is “What is really the intention of the culprit coming to our home during those odd hours? ” Don’t tell me that trespassing is not a crime. I would say it is a crime. Even from our Islamic laws, it stipulates that when two muslims of opposite gender and not blood related (bukan muhrim) are in close contact, they have committed a crime (khalwat). Thus if our laws or acts are not comprehensive enough, the relevant authorities have to look into this issue seriously for the safety of all Bruneians not only my family so that our home is still a safe place to live in as before.
